South Korea is renowned for its various hanok villages, and among them, the Jeonju Hanok Village has gained popularity as a captivating tourist destination where visitors can immerse themselves in an old village ambiance characterized by traditional Korean wooden houses, in contrast to modern hanok architecture.

Situated amidst the bustling cityscape of Seoul, Bukchon Hanok Village and Namsangol Hanok Village provide visitors with a unique experience, showcasing the harmonious coexistence of the past and the present. However, Jeonju Hanok Village takes the crown as the largest hanok district in South Korea, boasting approximately 625 traditional tile-roofed houses alongside modernized hanok structures. This village stands out not only as a cultural gem for sightseeing but also as a hub for tourists to partake in traditional activities such as tea ceremonies and hanji-making programs.

Furthermore, although not as extensive as Jeonju Hanok Village, other hanok villages like Gongju Hanok Village in Chungcheongnam-do, Gangneung Ojukheon Hanok Village in Gangwon-do, and Yeongam Gurim Hanok Village in Jeollanam-do offer ample opportunities for visitors to indulge in Korean culture.

In the province of Gangwon-do, located in Gangneung, the Seongyojang House provides a unique glimpse into the traditional Korean lifestyle of the Joseon dynasty. Although it is not a hanok village, this 300-year-old residence, once belonging to the upper class, still serves as a dwelling for the descendants, allowing visitors to experience the charm of a traditional Korean house.
